moulin rouge

Moulin Rouge

This top goes perfect with a nice glass of red sangria.  I'm not too good with the whole "FO evaluation" but I'll give it a go! The pattern was very well written and the only modification I had was using a tigher gauge.  I had knitted up a swatch with 7s that was a tinge tighter than the required and as you all know over a few glasses of champagne I decided to give it a go because like Nonnahs said - "You can always try it on and adjust as you go!"  Which I did! At first I was worried because it did look smaller but when I tried it on it fit like a glove - the beauty of top down patterns!

Moulin Rouge

I've used calmer before in the "Nothing but a T-shirt" shirt I made.  It has such a great give and it's oh so soft. I am definiteiloy planning on knitting more tops with that stuff... so soft.  And to think I finally have something to show for Project Spectum - welcome June the month of Reds!!

Fifi

And thank you for the well wishes regarding Italy!  I'm going from June 20th to July 4th.  Howevern, I am going as a chaperone so it's really going to be more a "work" trip.  I will have to deal with 40 teenage girls probably staying up all night, then wandering around the Italian streets driving the locals crazy the next morning.  I'm also the youngest chaperone, so they all think that I will be the one with the amazing energy (ha!).   Although I cannot lie, since I've never been you so know that I'm going to be as starry eyed as the girls walking in to the Sistine Chapel.

Our itenerary is packed with walking tours and sightseeing  but we get a few beach days! (Capri!) You best believe I will be taking hundreds of pics while there.  I figure this trip will allow me to see all the important parts of Rome and south so that next time I go I can just enjoy the cities without having to feel I need to do the tourist thing.

Thank you always for poping by the blog! I does sometimes amaze me that I actually have readers! (yea!!) It really has proven to be such a wonderful way to connect to new people and the positive and creative vibes it creates is so phenominal!

I hope everyone enjoys their weekends!

Have a wonderful trip!

Gorgeous Margaux! It looks like it fits perfectly!

It's beautiful, Margaux! I just wish I personally liked Calmer more- I would so make this for myself. You did an impeccable job.

it looks great! i love it! where is the pattern from?

Hi. Fabulous job on Fifi. I'm in a quandary and hope you can give me a little guidance. I can see that you began the body cabling above the breast line - whereas the pattern appears to begin the body cabling more at the mid to lower breast line. I actually like it better the way you have knit it (definately a sexier look). Anyway, I'm just curious whether you did that by design or by following the pattern. I'm at the point where I should begin the body cabling - but like you the top section will end above the breast line. Any thought on this? Until I saw your version I was going to extend the top cabling pattern. Thanks so much. Claudia

I absolutely love it. You've inspired me to make one using some Calmer that I have unravelled from another project last year that I hated. Thank you.

That looks fabulous!

It's a stunner. Eye-catching and intricate without being fussy. Oh, and a truly beautiful colour, too.

Gorgeous!
